Baptism

There is a fellowship that covers the world, and originates over 2000 years ago. In this fellowship, we find Peter, John, Mary Magdalene, and all the other men and women who walked with Jesus through Galilee and Judea. Such strong personalities as Martin Luther King, Mother Theresa and Desmond Tutu have continued this fellowship in our times. The absolute belief that Jesus Christ rose from the dead, and faith that he is always at our side is their common bond. Baptized in alliance with God, they have answered God's call and received God's everlasting love.

Jesus said:
Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Matthew 28:19
Are you not baptized, but would like to be? Do you have a child who you would like to give the gift of baptism? If so, please contact Anna Runesson at 905-528-1616, anna.runesson@rogers.com, or the church office at 416-486-0466, kyrkan@rogers.com.

Baptism in our church follows the Swedish Church Order. Through baptism, one is received into Christ's worldwide church. At the same time, one becomes a member of the congregation into which one is baptized — the Swedish Lutheran Church in Toronto. For this reason, the church naturally prefers to conduct baptism ceremonies on Sundays, as part of regular church services; however, alternative arrangements can be made if necessary. In special cases, baptism can be provided at home.

Although there is no charge for baptism, our church is self-financed and we are, of course, grateful for your support though donations.

Att få leva var dag under kärlekens lag, det är nåd, ja, underbar nåd.”
